Lindsay Lohan pays tribute to 'angel' Natasha Richardson on late actor's birthday
Lindsay Lohan shared a touching message for Natasha Richardson, who played her mom in “The Parent Trap,” on what would have been the late actor's 58th birthday.
“Happy Birthday Angel,” Lohan, 34, wrote on Instagram, posting a photo of her and Richardson sharing a sweet moment during the rom-com.
Lohan’s mother, Dina Lohan, also paid tribute to Richardson in the comments, writing, “God Bless Her.”
Richardson died in from a head injury following a skiing accident. She is survived by her husband, actor Liam Neeson, and their sons, Micheál and Daniel, who were 13 and 12 at the time.
Lohan, who was 11 when filming “The Parent Trap,” has spoken in the past of the late actor's kindness on set.
"Natasha had such an elegance and grace, and she was so maternal to me," she recalled during a virtual cast reunion last year.
Richardson’s son Micheál also previously talked about how the loving, caring figure Richardson played in “The Parent Trap” echoed her real-life personality as a mom.
"That’s more or less what she was like," he told Vanity Fair last year. "She was this sweet, amazing mother figure — my best friend. She had these amazing, big welcomes when we'd come home or she would come home."
Lisa Ann Walter, who played the beloved housekeeper, Chessy, in the movie, also opened up about the good times she had with Richardson during filming.
“The stuff that I had with her was amazing and fun,” she told TODAY in “She just joked all the time, and she was super in love with her husband.”
“If you walked by her trailer, she would swing the door open and, if it was in the evening, she'd have a glass of wine and say, ‘Come in for a gossip,’” she added. “She'd get you to come into her trailer and hang out. She was just the sweetest, kindest person.”

With a simple “Happy Birthday Angel” caption, Lohan shared a photo of the pair on Instagram from the set of the movie, which came out in In the photo below, Lohan (who played twins Hallie and Annie in her film debut) stares lovingly up at Richardson (who played her on-screen mom) as the two walk outside. Richardson passed away suddenly at the age of 45 in of an epidural hematoma after suffering a head injury while skiing in Mont Tremblant, north of Montreal. The Parent Trap, a remake of the Disney film, was one of her most memorable roles. In , the cast of The Parent Trap reunited and reminisced fondly about Richardson. “Natasha had such an elegance and grace, and she was so maternal to me,” Lohan remembered. Dennis Quaid, Richardson’s on-screen ex, remembered that she was “somebody so giving and so glad to be there and transmitted that joy of being able to do what we do. It just made everything that much better.”
Richardson also starred in Asylum and Maid in Manhattan. She came from acting royalty. As the daughter of director Tony Richardson and actor Vanessa Redgrave, many of her relatives — including sister Joely Richardson — were also actors. She was married to film actor Liam Neeson and had two children with him.
Elaine Hendrix, Quaid’s character’s girlfriend and epic villain in the film, had this to say: “She would come into the hair-and-makeup trailer and she would literally swoon over talking about Liam and her kids, and she would call him ‘my Liam’ They truly seemed to have it all, which, to me, made what happened even more heartbreaking.”

Lindsay Lohan remembered Natasha Richardson, who played her mom in the film The Parent Trap, on Tuesday (May 11), which would have been the late actress' 58th birthday.
Lohan posted a still from The Parent Trap on her Instagram, writing, "Happy Birthday Angel #natasharichardson." Hallie Meyers-Shyer -- the daughter of Parent Trap director Nancy Meyers who also played a camper named Lindsay in the film -- and Lohan's brother Dakota sent heart emojis in the comments section.
In the remake of the Disney romantic comedy, Richardson played Elizabeth James, a divorced mother of identical twin girls (with Lohan pulling double-duty to play both Hallie Parker and Annie James) who becomes the target of her recently reunited daughters' grand scheme to get her back with her ex-husband and their father Nicholas Parker (Dennis Quad).

It can send you for a bit of a head spin, and so you just latch on to the tiny little memories, whether it's her laugh or her energy in the room or her cooking.
"I do have her films to go back and watch her in, which I'm incredibly grateful for."

"I just see her so much as that person," he said.
"I'm so lucky too, because she's passed away, I can still watch her and see how she worked and also it's a great thing to have And I do [watch her movies], but there's still a lot there I need to watch."

Quaid, 67 who played Liz's ex-husband, Nick said that Richardson was "somebody so giving and so glad to be there and transmitted that joy of being able to do what we do. It just made everything that much better."
"She would come into the hair-and-makeup trailer and she would literally swoon over talking about Liam and her kids, and she would call him, 'My Liam,' " said Hendrix, 50, who played the would-be stepmother to Lohan in the movie. "They truly seemed to have it all, which, to me, made what happened even more heartbreaking."

The actress paid tribute to her late TheParent Trap onscreen mom in a sentimental post on Tuesday. Richardson died in from a brain hemorrhage following a skiing accident. The beloved star played Elizabeth James in the flick, the mother to Lohan's twins Annie and Hallie.
Lohan, 34, posted a still from the movie. In the pic, a young Lohan wears a blue coat and lovingly looks up at Richardson, who donned an elegant beige dress and cream coat.
"Happy Birthday Angel #natasharichardson ," Lohan captioned the sweet photo.
Back in July, The Parent Trap cast, including Lohan, Dennis Quaid, Elaine Hendrix, Lisa Ann Walter, and Simon Kunz, along with director Nancy Meyers and writer-producer Charles Shyer,virtually reunitedraise money for World Central Kitchen.
During the reunion, the actors remembered the late actress, with Lohan saying, "Natasha had such an elegance and grace and she was so maternal to me."
"[She was] just somebody so giving and so glad to be there and transmitted that joy," Quaid, Richardson's onscreen ex and father of the twins, said. "It made everything that much better."
Hendrix, who played Quaid's much-hated onscreen girlfriend, Meredith Blake, recalled Richardson gushing over her husband, Liam Neeson, and their sons, Daniel, 24, and Micheal,
"She would come into the hair and makeup trailer and she would literally swoon over talking about Liam and her kids. She would call him 'My Liam,'" Hendrix said. "And she really seemed to have it all, which to me made what happened even more heartbreaking."
