How to Make Local Internet Access When Sharing on a Cricket Wireless
By Andrew Tennyson
Sharing your wireless data connection on your Cricket phone enables you to create Internet access for local devices, such as tablets, laptops and other smartphones. This is referred to as creating a hot spot. When configuring your Cricket phone to function as a hot spot, you set up the device to rebroadcast its cellular data connection locally over Wi-Fi. Cricket sells smartphones compatible with this procedure running all three of the major operating systems: iOS, Android and Windows Phone.
About Hot Spots
Once you've created your hot spot, local devices with Wi-Fi functionality can log on to the Internet via your hot spot just as they would a Wi-Fi signal broadcast by a wireless router. This practice is referred to as tethering. How you go about logging on to a Wi-Fi connection from the local device varies depending on the make, model and operating system of the device. Consult the device's manual for more information.
Be aware that some mobile phone plans include hot spot functionality, while others require you to pay a monthly fee to add the feature. Contact your local Cricket outlet for additional information about pricing and availability in your area.
Create Hot Spot - Android
To create a local hot spot on a Cricket device running the Android operating system, start by tapping the "Settings" icon on the Home screen. Tap "Wireless & networks" and then select "Tethering & portable hotspot." Place a check mark in the "Portable Wi-Fi hotspot" check box to enable hot spot functionality. To add a password to your hot spot, tap the "Security" menu, select "WPA2 PSK2" and enter your desired password in the provided field. Local devices will need to enter this password before they can access your hot spot.
Create Hot Spot - IPhone
To activate hot spot functionality on a Cricket iPhone, start by tapping the "Settings" icon on the Home screen. Tap "General" to load the General Settings menu, and then tap "Cellular." At this point you may be prompted to contact Cricket in order to enable the Personal Hotspot feature on the device, if it's not enabled already. If Personal Hotspot is already enabled, press the "Home" button to return to the Home screen, tap "Settings" again, and this time tap "Personal Hotspot" on the General Settings screen. Tap the "Wi-Fi Password" field to enter a password for your hot spot.
Create Hot Spot - Windows Phone
To set up a hot spot on a Cricket phone running the Windows Phone operating system, open the Apps list, tap "Settings," and then tap "Internet Sharing." Switch the Sharing feature to the On position. Tap "Setup" and enter an identifiable name for your hot spot in the provided field, if you so desire. To add a password to the hot spot, tap the "Password" box. Passwords must be a minimum of eight characters in length. Tap "Done" when you are finished.

- Phone manufacturers might use different terms in their instructions. Try searching for Hotspot or tethering if you are having trouble.
How to Manage your Mobile Hotspot Settings
- Manage the number of devices that can be connected to your Hotspot. Cricket provides the ability to tether among multiple devices at the same time, however this number varies by phone. Keep in mind the more devices you tether, the more Hotspot data you use.
- Customize your password to keep your Mobile Hotspot connection secure.
- Some phones let you manage how long Mobile Hotspot can stay inactive before it automatically turns off.
What are the Feature Costs and Data Impacts for Using Mobile Hotspot?
- The Mobile Hotspot feature is available on eligible plans for $10/month.
- Every device you connect will use the high-speed data from your rate plan's allowance unless you're connected to Wi-Fi. High-speed data usage for Mobile Hotspot is combined with data usage from your mobile phone.
- If you're on one of the Cricket Unlimited plans, Mobile Hotspot data is limited to 10 GB each month. After 10 GB of usage, Mobile Hotspot data speeds slowed to max of Kbps for the rest of bill cycle.
- Check your data usage at any time online or on the myCricket app on your mobile phone.

Cricket Wireless Hotspots use the data cap you have for the plan you’re on, meaning that if you have an Unlimited Plan then you have 8GB of high-speed data. Cricket Wireless data plans have different allotments of data, so be aware of how much you have on your plan. Once you’ve used that data, then your speeds will be reduced to Kbps for the rest of your bill cycle. Tethering could expend all your high-speed data.

As we are sure that you are reading this, AT&T has been providing some services under the name of Cricket Wireless. In general, AT&T has quicker speeds, a more in-depth range of plans, and more perks.
However, what may have attracted you to Cricket in the first place is that their strength lies in providing a cheap and unlimited plan.
So, if that’s your priority, you can’t go far wrong! In addition, they are a company that is pretty focused on the user experience element.
They have also been supplying their customers with an additional 10GB of free data with their Cricket Wireless services.
However, there is a bit of a downside. Those of us on the $55 unlimited internet plan will have noticed that this plan comes without a Hot-Spot.
That being said, there is another option. There is also the $60 unlimited plan, which comes with up to 15GB of data. This one can be used for Hot-Spotting and just regular internet data usage.
The thing is, for a lot of customers, neither of these plans provides quite enough. For this reason, many of us have been out there trawling the net looking for tips and hacks on how to sidestep the restrictions of the Hot-Spot.
If you are one of those people, you have come to the right place. We have pretty much done all of the trawling so that you don’t have to!
In this article, we will show you a whole range of tried and trusted ways to ‘hack’ your Hot-Spot for better performance.
So, if you’re looking for endless Hot-Spotting as a feature, check out our tips and tricks below!
Cricket Hotspot Hack
Naturally, there is always something that is going to put up a little bit of resistance when you are trying to pull off a stunt such as this.
In this case, it isn’t anything major at all. The first thing you need to do is to make sure that your AT&T account is paid up to use Cricket Hotspot.
As soon as this is done, you can move on to following the steps below to hack your way into getting unlimited free Hot-Spotting with Cricket Wireless.
With each of these tips, it is important to note that they will work equally as well whether you are using an Android or an Apple phone.
Asides from that, these tricks can seem a little difficult at first. But don’t worry, if you follow the steps below closely, you should be up and running in no time at all!
So, without further ado, let’s get stuck into it:
Step 1: Install Setting Database Editor
- On your phone, you will need to navigate to either the PlayStore or AppStore (Android and Apple, respectively)
- Type in “Setting Database Editor.”
Then, to get things started, wait while the App downloads and then open it up when it is done.
Step 2: Scroll Down To “Tether Entitlement Check State”
- Straight after opening the App, scroll down through the options until you find the one titled “Tether Entitlement Check State.”
- Once you have found it, tap it to open it up.
Step 3: Change The Subject Number
As soon as you have opened this setting, you will have a dialogue box pop up on the screen.
- All you need to do here is to type “-1” into the bar.
Note: While doing so, be very careful not to leave out the minus symbol before the 1. Also, there is no need to type in the inverted commas, just what is inside of them. You probably already knew this, but we’re just stating it for the sake of clarity.
- Finally, enter the settings bar in the App and close the App itself.
Step 4: Changing the Relevant Settings on Your Phone
Now that we have taken care of things within the App, it is time to make sure that your phone can follow suit.
This bit is a little tricky if you haven’t done it before, so we will try to be as clear as possible here.
Depending on the phone you are using, the layout might be slightly different from what is listed below. If there are differences, they should only be minor.
Ok, here we go:
- First up, go to “Settings” on your phone.
- Next up, you will need to open up “Mobile Networks.”
- Then, tap on “Access Point Names.”
- Go to the option that says “Cricket.”
At this point, you will be given a list full of copy-related options starting from MMS Proxy to APN roaming protocol. Look them up and copy and paste everything you see.
Step 5: Go The APN Type
Next up, you will need to ensure that you write in these hacks that will alter your default settings into the APN type. Here they are below:
When you have finished typing these ‘cheat codes’ into the APN type field, the next thing you will have to do is to switch off the App and then go to the main interface of your phone.
When you are there, check your mobile Hot-Spot to make sure that it is working as it should be.
If it isn’t working straight away, don’t panic. Some phones will require that to you restart them before these settings changes can take effect.
After you have completed the above steps, the next thing is to open the Hot-Spot settings.
At this point, you should be seeing that the Cricket Wireless network is working.
While you are there, you should also check the generic settings in your phone’s Hot-Spot options. You should then see that none of your MBs are being used.
In fact, instead of this, yourphone’s internet should be powered solely by the free Hot-Spot.
And that’s it! You should now have the convenience of a free and unlimited Hot-Spot at your disposal!
Free and Unlimited Hot-Spot Across all 50 States!
By using the above hack and having your mobile Hot-Spot on, you should be able to take your Cricket Wireless network with you wherever you end up.
We hope that this tip worked for you. That being said, if you have found another way to do it that works just as well, we would be curious to know all about it.

Cricket phone tethering android
How to Tether Your Android Phone for Free
This article explains how to tether your Android phone so that you can share its internet connection with your laptop, tablet, or another mobile device for free when you're away from your home or office. The directions below generally apply regardless of the device manufacturer.
Before setting up tethering, check your carrier's terms. Some carriers have no restrictions regarding tethering, whereas others offer it at low speeds, require a supplemental plan, or block it altogether.
Types of Tethering
Three types of tethering are common to most phones:
- Wi-Fi sharing is easy and quick, supports sharing with multiple devices, and tends to drain the phone's battery.
- Bluetooth is the slowest and allows sharing with one device at a time.
- A USB connection is faster, and the laptop simultaneously charges the smartphone.
How to Tether Your Phone
Connecting to a Wi-Fi hotspot is the easiest, most convenient, and most commonly used option of the three types. Essentially, the phone creates a Wi-Fi network to which you connect your laptop in the usual way. Here's how to set it up.
On your phone, go to Settings > Connections > Mobile Hotspot and Tethering.
Depending on the Android version and manufacturer, you might see something like Tethering, Mobile Hotspot,or Tethering & portable hotspot instead.
Turn on Mobile Hotspot.
Choose a network name and password.
Connect your second device to the network you just created, just as you would to any other Wi-Fi network.
Alternatively, to share your connection via Bluetooth, pair the devices and toggle Bluetooth to On in Mobile Hotspot and Tethering.
Likewise, to use USB, toggle on USB tethering and connect your phone to your other device with a USB cable.
Using an App
If your carrier blocks tethering, try a third-party app. For example, PdaNet+ is a free mobile app with a companion desktop app that shares a smartphone connection over your choice of Bluetooth, USB, or Wi-Fi.
Depending on your carrier, you might not be able to download the app directly, but the app maker offers a way around that. See the app's Google Play listing for other possible restrictions.
Rooting Your Smartphone
Another method involves rooting your smartphone; free, unrestricted tethering is one of its many benefits. Rooting a phone could void the warranty or, if done incorrectly, render the phone unusable. In most cases, though, the good outweighs the bad. Once your smartphone is rooted, you'll have no restrictions on apps (such as the Wi-Fi Tethering app from OpenGarden) that you can download.
Extra: Tethering Tips
Tethering is best in scenarios where an alternative secure connection is not available. When you're finished tethering, be sure to turn it off in Settings. Turn off any connection you're not actively using, such as Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, which will save battery life. Also, tethering uses data, so it's best used for short periods if your plan doesn't include unlimited data.
If you need to tether your phone to your laptop's data connection, check out our article on setting up a reverse tether.

The hand on top began a leisurely exploration. She slid off her hip, confidently caressing her flat stomach. The fingers gently ran a circle around the navel, and then crawled higher and lay under the chest, lifting it slightly, as if barely perceptible feminine scent through the nostrils. Marina straightened up and, mischievously looking at her friend, said: Are you completely wet there, Sashka turns you on so.
Vika shuddered and opened her eyes, in which panic swept desperately.
