Why Buying YouTube Subscribers Will Destroy Your Channel In 2021

It’s tempting to buy subscribers, isn’t it? Indeed, reaching viewers seems extremely challenging in the beginning. So why don’t you just pay for your first thousand subscribers to boost the channel?

We want to warn you! Buying subscribers and views is not the solution. This could be the thing that ruins your channel in the end. You can still go ahead and buy subscribers, but at least you will know the consequences.

You can also watch this video where Jan Fassbender of So geht YouTube explains all pros and cons of paying for subscribers →

#1 Can I buy real YouTube subscribers?

A thousand subscribers will cost you an average of 30 to 50 dollars, and for 1000 views you will pay 3  to 4 dollars. That’s extremely cheap, but it can have devastating consequences.

Companies that sell subscribers and views might try to convince you that if your channel is empty, your videos could get buried under the content of more popular channels, and a foundation audience makes viewers more willing to like, comment, and subscribe. Is it so? 🤔

#2 So cheap! Let’s buy!

So let’s do a little thought experiment and just imagine you buy your first thousands of subscribers. Now, you should get tons of views on your new video, right? Probably not, because these thousands of subscribers are not real subscribers.

These people didn’t subscribe to your channel because they liked your content, but because you paid them off. They might even be bots that do not understand what you’re talking about because they are from some other country.

What does YouTube see?

There are now a thousand people that subscribed to your channel, you upload a new video, and pretty much no one clicks on it. So from a YouTube view, your channel looks worse than before.

If there are thousands of subscribers and only forty people click on the video – that’s not a good sign.

#3 You upload the next video, what’s next?

You will need to pay them again and buy new views and comments; otherwise, your video will look bad to the YouTube algorithm. You see where it’s going, don’t you?

As a result, you get into a spiral where you need to buy new views and likes; you get addicted to these services. And of course, that’s what they are trying to achieve. They want you to buy more and more and more.

And you will! Since they are selling them so cheaply. Don’t forget: these people aren’t real subscribers. You’re not buying potential customers. You’re buying fake numbers that don’t bring any real value.

Is it legal to buy subscribers?

If YouTube notices that you’ve bought subscribers and views, it will take all of them away (YouTube does this quite regularly). In the worst case, this might lead to your whole channel being shut down.

#4. Final verdict: should I buy subscribers?

That’s a definite no.

But how can I grow my channel then?

4 Ways to Buy YouTube Subscribers (And Whether You Should)

4 Ways to Buy YouTube Subscribers (And Whether You Should)

There are over 2 billion logged-in monthly users…

That’s YouTube’s enormous reach.

In fact, over half the US population in EVERY age bracket watch videos on YouTube.

Percentage-of-U.S-Internet-Users-Who-Use-Youtube-Buy-Youtube-Subscribers

But this audience, as I’m sure you know, is a hard nut to crack.

Making waves on YouTube is getting harder and harder by the day. With most influential YouTubers already established and new accounts getting lost in the noise.

So, how do you stand out? Is it worth buying YouTube subscribers to kickstart your account?

Let’s take a closer look…

social media Guide

The Ultimate Guide to Social Media Marketing for Business

Should you buy YouTube subscribers?

Just like buying Instagram followers or any other social media growth hack, there is a risk when buying YouTube subscribers.

If you inauthentically purchase subscribership and engagement you are “gaming the system” – something that YouTube (and Google) don’t like.

You run the risk of having your account suspended, or worse, banned.

The other thing to consider is YouTube’s algorithm. If you purchase a bunch of bots or fake accounts to follow your channel, they are unlikely to engage with your content. The less engagement (view time) you get, the less likely your video will be found in YouTube searches.

This creates a problem because you are left always “paying to play”, rather than making the most of YouTube’s billions of active users that are searching for your content.

However, while it’s important to recognize these risks, that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t buy YouTube subscribers. You just need to do it the right way.

Instead of going from 0 to 100,000 subscribers overnight, which is obviously fake, take it slow.

Start with 1000, produce some great content, then go for another 1000. Slowly work your way up the YouTube tree so that the growth appears organic.

How do you buy YouTube subscribers?

There are four main ways you can buy YouTube subscribers. Each has its pros and cons.

Let’s take a look at them now.

#1. Instant Purchase

The first way to buy YouTube subscribers is via an instant purchase.

Now, this is the riskiest way to grow your following so you need to make sure you research the service you will use.

Basically, there are instant gratification services that have thousands of YouTubers and YouTube accounts in their database ready to follow your channel for a fee.

All you do is go to their website, choose a package, and make payment. It’s like buying a pair of shoes!

Stormviews is one example of this service.

Buy-Real-Youtube-Views-and-Boost-Your-Profile-Instantly-Buy-Youtube-Subscribers

The reason I like Stormviews is that with this service you are buying 100% real subscribers (not bots). You can also increase your engagement with this service, by buying likes and views.

The good thing is, Stormviews do everything they can to stick to YouTube’s terms of service. Unlike many other services that simply have bot farms following your account.

YouTube’s terms suggest that buying promotional services is perfectly legal, as long as those services are generated by genuine users, promoted on legitimate social media and other channels, and – most important of all – are not fake bots.

Stormviews meets all of these criteria.

It’s also super affordable to buy YouTube subscribers with Stormviews. You can get 1,000 subscribers for $119.99 and have them delivered within 2 business days.

#2. Google Ads

Google-Ads-Buy-Youtube-Subscribers

The second way to buy YouTube subscribers is with Google Ads.

As you may know, Google owns YouTube, and its ad platform allows you to promote your YouTube channel to millions of people who are actively engaging with other videos in your industry.

You’re not technically “buying YouTube subscribers” using Google Ads, instead, you’re paying for views and engagement that will result in more subscribers.

This approach is more organic than the instant purchase approach above and it can take a lot longer to grow your following. It is also more expensive. But this approach 100% won’t put your account at risk, because you’re working with YouTube’s owner!

One advantage of Google Ads is that you can target a specific audience. Maybe you’re looking to engage with small business owners, for example. Or maybe you want to grow your YouTube subscribers with people that love cats. Google Ads interest-based targeting allows you to do that.

How much does Google Ads cost? You can run video view ads on just about any budget, and depending on your targeting, get video views for as little as $0.02 per view. The challenge is then converting those views into subscribers, which can cost upward of $1-2 per subscriber.

Try Google Ads Now

#3. Other Ad Networks

You can also get traffic to your YouTube channel from other advertising networks, such as Facebook ads or native advertising platforms like Outbrain.

Outbrain-Other-Ad-Networks-Buy-Youtube-Subscribers

Unlike an instant follower purchase or Google Ads strategy, other ad networks have far less user intent. Basically, you are disrupting people on other websites or social networks and asking them to come and view your YouTube videos. Rather than engaging with them while they are already on the platform.

This means that the cost-per-view can be significantly higher – likely to be $0.30 per view or more – and subsequently, the expense for growing your subscribers gets pretty hefty.

In saying that, it also exposes your brand to a wider network of users and can be great for awareness and brand reinforcement purposes. If you have a retargeting audience from website traffic or social media subscribers, this could be a good approach to convert them into YouTube subscribers. But if you’re just looking to buy YouTube subscribers, the other methods are more direct.

Try Outbrain Now

#4. Influencer Marketing

The final way to buy YouTube subscribers is to collaborate with influencers on a paid campaign.

Influencer marketing is all the buzz at the moment and influential users with highly engaged followings are all over social media. Including YouTube.

Ideally you would find a small group of influencers who already have large YouTube audiences and are willing to create personalized content for your brand that promotes your channel. This is the quickest and most authentic way to grow your audience without paying for ads or directly purchasing subscribers.

Of course, influencer marketing comes with far more variables than direct advertising. You never really know how well a campaign will perform or if you’ll get a return on investment. It’s risky but can pay off big time.

If you want to go down this path I would check out a tool such as Upfluence where you can search an extensive database of YouTubers to find the right influencers.

Wrapping up

Now that you’ve had a chance to look at the four main ways of buying YouTube subscribers, what is the best path for you?

It really does depend on your budget. If possible, I would test and optimize all of these tactics to find the best mix for your brand. However, if your budget doesn’t allow for that, start from the top down.

Buy YouTube subscribers using a service such as Stormviews and run some video view ads on Google to get your channel humming along. Then, as things pick up, consider branching out onto native ad networks, social media platforms, and influencer collaborations.

YouTube is powerful, but you need to get some skin in the game if you want to make the most of it.

TIP: If you are too busy, you can always hire a YouTube expert or a freelancer on Fiverr.

How to buy YouTube subscribers that are real and active

Presented by SidesMedia

YouTube is one of the most popular global video sharing platforms, with over two billion monthly users. So it’s no surprise that there are plenty of people trying to make something of themselves on YouTube.

The question remains — how can one gain enough YouTube subscribers to take their channel to the next level? There are plenty of other important engagement YouTube metrics such as video views, shares, and comments, but subscribers is among the most important.

When you have a lot of YouTube subscribers, you’ll not only be able to have more regular viewers, you’ll also be likely to expand your subscribers through shares and appearances in search results.

It can take a long time to get a lot of YouTube subscribers, which is why people want to buy them. Problem is, not all companies care about you and just want to make a profit.

Once you read this article, you’ll have a solid understanding of:

  • Why people buy YouTube subscribers
  • What happens when you buy YouTube subscribers
  • How to buy real YouTube subscribers
  • 3 pro tips to get more real YouTube subscribers.

Without further ado, let’s dive in!

Why do people buy YouTube subscribers?

Before we get into buying YouTube subscribers, let’s talk about the reason behind it all in the first place. Why do people buy YouTube subscribers?

It’s no surprise that having more subscribers drives success on the YouTube platform. With so many monthly users recorded, it’s vital for YouTube channels to have a solid number of regular viewers.

These high levels of competition make it increasingly difficult to get the necessary attention from people to even gain more subscribers. After all, most people are viewing YouTube on a case-by-case basis with a specific search in mind.

The YouTube algorithm is very specific, and when you have more subscribers, you are likely to appear as a suggested account for more viewers.

Believe it or not, the YouTube algorithm decides 70% of the videos that viewers watch. Technology is a powerful thing.

People think that simply buying YouTube subscribers from any company is going to help them get the traction they need, but that’s not true. Fake subscribers do nothing for your channel.

YouTube has been around for over 15 years now, and they know a thing or two about people trying to fortify their channel with fake subscribers, as well as how to curb it.

So, what really happens when you buy YouTube subscribers?

What happens when I buy YouTube subscribers?

There are literally hundreds of websites selling YouTube subscribers. They must sell the same thing, right?

Well, no. Most companies out there may claim to be selling real YouTube subscribers, describing them as “high quality. However, there’s nothing quality about them — fakes are fakes.

These are fake profiles that are meant to look like subscribers, but actually do nothing for your channel’s performance.

What’s more, YouTube can identify these accounts as fake and they will eventually drop off; YouTube does perpetual cleanings to uphold the integrity of their platform, and fake followers aren’t welcomed.

So, fake followers are a no-go. How can you buy real ones?

How to buy real YouTube subscribers

Most companies really sell fake YouTube subscribers, so it takes a lot of time to weed them out and find the ones who don’t. Yes, some companies do sell real YouTube subscribers that can actually help your channel’s progress.

Some might claim to offer you a YouTube bot or automated service that will engage with other users on the platform, but stay away. YouTube has strict policies against these and they can get you flagged and even banned.

Focus your energy on finding the real YouTube subscribers. You’ll see better popularity levels and more social cred, helping you to monetize the platform.

3 pro tips to gain real YouTube subscribers

So, once you buy real YouTube subscribers from SidesMedia, you’ll already have given yourself a great competitive edge. For that reason, you should take advantage of the lead you have and implement a few more strategies to quadruple your YouTube subscriber growth.

Before we let you go, we’ve got 3 pro tips to gain real YouTube subscribers to help you boost what you’re getting from SidesMedia. Don’t let the opportunity slip away!

1. Ask your viewers to subscribe

It doesn’t get much simpler than that, right?

While people view YouTube videos often, sometimes they even forget that subscribing is an option. It’s a good idea to remind them and let them know what other great content you’ll be releasing soon.

Find different moments in your video where it makes sense to ask, like after you’ve given them a useful tip, or at the end of your intro, or towards the end of your video.

Be smart and creative about it — help your audience feel comfortable and valued through your content without pestering them too much.

2. Promote videos on your end screen

Another very effective way to gain more real YouTube subscribers is to make a clear and visually appealing promotion of videos at the end screen of the video a viewer has just watched.

If they’re likely to watch a bunch of your videos, or even just a few, they’re much more likely to subscribe, because obviously there is something that they liked about you.

This is a great way to highlight some of your top content and not only gain more YouTube subscribers, but YouTube views as well.

3. Create an appealing channel page

When people view your videos and click over to your main channel page, that’s going to be a big factor for whether or not they stay on as a subscriber. There are various things you can do to make sure that happens.

First, you’ve got to make sure that your bio pic represents you or your channel effectively and in a visually appealing way.

You should also create a YouTube banner that gets people’s attention and represents you and what your channel is about.

Don’t forget to use video thumbnails that align with the overall look of your channel and organize your videos in ways that make it easy for people to find content they love.

When users come to your channel and see more of what they’re interested in, they’re highly likely to become a subscriber. Keeping a clean, on-brand, and organized channel page can help you gain more real YouTube subscribers.

Final thoughts: Buy real YouTube subscribers that matter

Buying YouTube subscribers can be a viable solution for helping your YouTube bump up to the next level, but you’ve got to make sure you buy the right ones.

The best way to make the most of your investment is to buy real YouTube subscribers from a provider like SidesMedia who has real networks and strategies to provide something that actually delivers results for you and your channel.

It’s not worth it to invest in cheap YouTube subscribers that are ultimately fake. The best thing you can do is buy real YouTube subscribers and combine them with our pro tips to amplify your growth in a big way.

It has taken a while for internet marketing to really catch on, but now it is of major importance to brands. Companies spend considerable sums on internet advertising, particularly on platforms such as Google Adsense. Although Google keeps a chunk, the rest goes to website owners who place Adsense ads on their web pages and blogs.

The largest website of all, according to Alexa, is Google itself. The second largest site (since April 2016) is YouTube. So it is probably no surprise that YouTube is very important to Google in terms of AdSense revenue. It has to be remembered, of course, that Google owns YouTube, doubling its importance as an advertising platform. Possibly this is the reason why Google has different rules for AdSense on YouTube compared to AdSense on other video platforms.

Steps to Follow to enable Monetization of Your Videos

You cannot just post a video on YouTube and hope it earns you cash - this would not work even if you were lucky enough for the video to go viral. There are a few steps you have to do before YouTube allows you to monetize your videos

  1. Enable your account for monetization - this is ticking a monetization option in your YouTube account, and agreeing to the YouTube monetization agreement
  2. Connect your channel to an AdSense account - either create a new AdSense account or attach this YouTube channel to an existing account you have
  3. Review video criteria and ad formats - YouTube will only allow you to monetize what they consider “advertiser-friendly” videos. This means you cannot charge for videos showing violence or nudity, and in particular, you agree that your videos are not breaking any copyright laws (you need to be particularly careful when using background music). You also get to choose which types of ads you want, e.g. display ads around your video, overlay videos, skippable video ads, or a number of other types)
  4. Set up either a single video or specific multiple videos to be monetized.

Once you have done these steps, and been accepted for monetization by YouTube, get busy making and promoting videos. You will need to create a large collection of well-promoted videos to start making any decent level of income.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much can you make on YouTube?

You can use our YouTube Money Calculator to estimate your estimated daily and monthly earnings on YouTube. It factors your video view count, engagement, and various other metrics into its calculations. You do need at least 1,000 subscribers to your YouTube account for this tool to work. Four main factors affect your YouTube earnings potential:
CPM vs. CPC
Estimated gross earnings per 1,000 views
Estimated earnings per subscriber
Estimated variance based on video engagement

Who is the highest-paid YouTuber?

Cashlady has created a YouTube League of the people they estimate are the biggest earners on YouTube at any moment in time. These are ranked by Average Earnings per Video. It may surprise you who their top earners are at the moment (several of them are surprisingly young, yet do not include the highly popular Ryan’s Toys):
Vlad and Nikita $312K per video
Dude Perfect $301.3K
Like Nastya $258.5K
TheOdd1sOut $168K
Lele Pons $157.7K
Liza Koshy $133K

How do you increase your YouTube earnings?

There are multiple ways you can make money on YouTube. However, all require that you first build a sizable, engaged audience, so that needs to be your primary goal before you try to monetize your channel. Some of the ways you can increase your YouTube earnings include:
Promoting affiliate links in your videos
Joining up as a YouTube Partner and earning money from ads
Using crowdfunding to make money
Optimizing your YouTube channel for sales

Why are my YouTube earnings decreasing?

There are several reasons why your YouTube earnings could be decreasing, and much of it has to do with the quality of your channel content. For a start, YouTube periodically changes its rules. Check to see that ads still appear on your videos, and you haven’t lost the right to have them there. Secondly, check to see that you are still producing the types of content your fanbase love. Thirdly, your content may simply be out of season currently, e.g., snowboarding videos in summer.

Is YouTube good for earning money?

YouTube can be a highly lucrative way to earn money, but you have to work hard to ensure success. For a start, you need at least 1,000 subscribers and 4,000 watch hours over the last year before you become eligible to join the YouTube Partner Program. Once you reach that minimum, you can begin to receive ads on your videos. However, you can also earn money in other ways, such as selling merchandise, fan funding, and working with brands as an influencer or affiliate.

Do YouTubers still get paid when you skip ads?

YouTubers generally don’t get paid if you skip ads, although there are some exceptions. Traditionally, advertisers pay YouTube per engagement (usually somebody watching an ad for at least 30 seconds). If a viewer skips before this time, YouTube doesn’t charge the advertiser or pay the YouTuber. If they click on the ad, the YouTuber gets paid. There are now non-skippable bumper ads of six seconds, charged on a CPM basis, i.e., per thousand views. They count if a viewer watches for at least 2 seconds.

Thinking of starting a YouTube channel? A lot of bloggers, gamers, and streamers have turned to YouTube to upload their content in order to start generating revenue from it. Once you have a certain number of subscribers and your videos are regularly generating views, it becomes easier and easier to use the platform to make a living for yourself.

As a fulltime YouTuber, one question I get asked almost every time when I meet new people is “How much does YouTube pay per subscriber?”

This is a fair question as YouTube is quickly becoming a highly sough after platform for those who want to generate some extra income or even replace their jobs.

After I tell them my response, they are usually quite surprised as to how YouTube pays its creators and the worth of a subscriber for a YouTuber. Lets get stuck in!

So How Much Does YouTube Pay Per Subscriber?

The quick answer is NOTHING

But how can that be? Simply put, YouTube pays their subscribers per view rather than per subscriber. This makes YouTube a more even playing field as the smaller channels can still generate ad income irregardless of their subscriber count.

YouTube uses a method called CPM or “Cost Per Mille” which is a marketing term for cost per 1,000 views or in some cases impressions. Typically the CPM for YouTuber can range from 20 cents to $10 per 1,000 views. But typically an average channel will get about $1.50 – $3 per 1,000 views. You can view more here on why the prices fluctuate so much.

Another thing to keep in mind is that a simple click on the video does not earn the YouTuber as much as someone watching the entire video. This is because YouTube has a system where they count the number of minutes your viewers have consumed in total, rather than the number of clicks itself. This is yet another incentive for you to create high quality videos, more minutes watched equals more income.

However… That doesn’t mean that subscribers aren’t valuable. For each subscriber that a YouTuber creator gains, thats one extra view that they will get per view and even more views down the track.

Lets take this hypothetical channel for example

  • Tech review channel
  • Has 200,000 subscribers
  • Has 150 vides in library
  • Monetises through Adsense and Amazon affiliate network
  • Average video is 7 minutes
  • Releases new content every week
  • Each video gets about 50,000 views
  • Reviews products in the $50 – $200 range

As this channel already has existing subscribers who love this creators content. They jump onto it as soon as it releases. This is hugely valuable for this YouTuber as people won’t have to search for it organically. But this will happen in time.

As for the Adsense earnings, say this YouTuber has a CPM of $3. This equates to $3 x 50,000 views/1,000 = $150 per video. Again, some videos might gain a lot of traction and get 1 million views, this can blow that number up to $1,000. But, this is solely from the views on the video. Extra income from affiliate marketing will be discussed in the following sections.

Also in this example, the CPM can rise and drop depending on the engagement of the viewers. If people are watching the video all the way till the end, or at least 80% of the video. Then this number could be even higher or lower. As mentioned earlier, your earnings are a direct result of the total minutes your viewers have watched, not just clicks.

Adsense – $150 per video

When it comes to Amazon, this can in some cases be a lot more lucrative depending on the type of content. Luckily for this YouTuber, they are reviewing very popular consumer related products.

Say a recent video was released about a product on Amazon that was retailing for $100. Out of the 50,000 views, 5% of people clicked on the link to the product which is 2,500 people.

Out of these 2,500 people, 5% of them purchased the product which equates to 125 sales of a $100 product. Amazon pays anywhere from 1% – 10% depending in the product type. But typically tech products get 4% referral commission.

So 125 sales x $100 = $12,500 which the YouTuber will get 4% of which is $500!

Amazon affiliate earnings – $500 per video

When earnings are added up from both revenue streams, it equals $650 per video. So if you wanted to work out the value of each subscriber, it would be:

$650/50,000 = 0.013 cents per per subscriber per video.

On a yearly basis if this YouTuber was to create 52 videos. Each subscriber would be worth 0.676 cents.

Hopefully this video has helped you gain a better understanding of how much YouTube pays per subscriber or, rather, how much each subscriber is worth to a content creator. You can only imagine how much YouTubers with millions of subscribers can earn!

You can view the cameras that YouTubers use here!

The Bottom Line

YouTube can be an interesting way to not only generate extra income, but keep your viewers informed or entertained with a topic you’re passionate about. Once you’ve gained enough subscribers and your videos are getting viewed regularly, you can even make this a full-time job!

There are a lot of YouTubers who have quit their day jobs to devote their lives to making content on YouTube. We hope this article has given you an idea of how much you can expect to earn from YouTube. If you’re interested in similar topics, please feel free to check out our other articles!
