Set up your Microsoft or Surface USB-C Travel Hub
After you unpack your travel hub, put it where you want on your desk and leave out any necessary cords or cables to get to them easily. Now you're ready to set it up.
Set up your workspace and plug in
Plug the USB-C connector into the USB-C port on your PC.
If you want to use a wired network connection, connect an Ethernet cable to the Ethernet port.
To connect an external display, do one of the following, depending on which kind of video connection your external display supports:
HDMI connection. Take an HDMI cable and plug one end into the HDMI port on your external display and plug the other end into the HDMI port on your hub.
If your video cable doesn't have an HDMI connector, you'll need to buy another cable or an adapter. For more info on adapters, go to Connect Surface to a TV, monitor, or projector.VGA connection. Take a VGA cable and plug one end into the VGA port on your display. Plug the other end into the VGA port on your hub.
Plug your USB computer peripherals into the USB or USB-C port on your hub—depending on which kind of USB connection your peripheral uses.

Answer: GaN itself does not necessarily mean it will charge faster. GaN technology is more efficient, which produces less heat. Less heat means a smaller package for a given charging capacity. A GaN charger at 65W and a non-GaN charger at 65W will charge at the same speed. Now this charger appears to be able to able to provide more charging watts than the original charger and could provide a faster charging experience assuming the Surface Pro's charging circuitry can use the extra power. - Question: Does this have PPS technology?

Answer: I use this charger on a Surface Pro 7 but as describe the cable is the same for the 6. Compact, efficient charger
I needed a second charger for my Surface Tablet and found this unit. It has the benefit of being very compact, it plugs directly into the wall (so there is only one cord) and the plug prongs fold in, making it even more compact. My only complaint, which is minor, is that the port label wears off easily, becoming difficult to read. This isn’t a huge inconvenience as the port usage is pretty obvious.

Great, but don't expect it to last long.
This charger (mainly the charger block) is great. I bought it because I travel and wanted to reduce the number of cables I pack. Initially everything seemed great. However, the cable that connects to my Surface, while able to charge my Surface quickly, didn't last too long. Now I'm left with the charger block and forced to charge my Surface via USB making this purchase quite an expensive charging block. If the charging cable were more durable this would be a 5 star review, but it's not so here we are.

Excellent Charger

Travel surface charger pro
If the LED light on your Surface charger is blinking, flashing, off, or on (but your Surface still isn’t charging), here’s what to do:
Check cables and reset your power supply unit: Disconnect the charger from your Surface, unplug the power cable from the electrical outlet in the wall, and then disconnect any USB accessories.
Wait at least 10 seconds. This gives the charger time to reset.
After that, clean everything with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth, and check for any damage. (Be sure to replace damaged cables.) Plug the charger back into the electrical outlet and your Surface.
Plug it in the other way: Flip the charger 180 degrees, and check to see if the LED light comes on and if your Surface starts charging again.
Try a different power source: Plug the charger into another outlet, surge protector, or power strip.
If you are using a Surface Dock: If the Surface device battery is empty, first charge it using the power supply that came with the device for a few minutes before trying to charge with the Surface Dock again.

If these steps don't resolve the problem, replace your power supply. Go to Device Service and Repair, register, and then select your Surface to start a service order.
