Regarding this, is Red Wing Pottery valuable?
For these reasons, along with their general scarcity, salt-glaze Red Wing stoneware from the late 19th century is highly collectible. As the 20th century dawned, Red Wing was the largest pottery in the United States.
One may also ask, are old crocks worth money? Values of decorated crocksVarious stylized imagery on stoneware crocks are indicative of makers, artisans, and potters and the designs often impact the value on the antiques market. For instance, mid 19th Century crocks can command $500 to $1000 at auction without a simple cobalt blue design on it.
Beside this, how much is a 30 gallon Redwing Crock worth?
30 gallon butterfly crock brings $12,750 at Red Wing Collectors Society sale.
What do the numbers on Red Wing crocks mean?
The "Red Wing Union Stoneware" mark was used between 1906 and 1936, while the red mark in the shape of the wing was introduced as a trademark in 1912, so your piece was made some time between 1912 and 1936. The large number "12" on your crock indicates its holding capacity--12 gallons.
